Thanksgiving Day
We started the day off with a ragtag game of football that reminded us all how out of shape we really are. Here is Lourett playing quarter back. I have to say... she has a great arm.
The morning was absolutly beautifull.
Here we all are after the game. It's good to be with friends.
Here we are at Matt's parents house for Thanksgiving dinner. It was beautifull and the food was wonderfull. I think Matt and Gean (Matt's grandmother) are the only ones paying attention to me. I guess nobody wants to be in photo with their mouths full.
We'll at least they noticed me.

Rainy Day Sunday
In the spring I found these fantastic Fig trees in a few random places in Foresthill. I waited all summer for the fruit to ripen and then picked and ate my way through tons of sweet figs (my favorite fruit).
I didn't have time during fig season to make jam, so I picked the fruit, froze, and stored it until now. This weekend. Sunday. A rainy day.
I had to make the jam in two batches which ended up taking about 3-4 hours. During this time I think Matt and I "tasted" about a jar full until I was happy. One batch is spiced the other is not.

I have to say, being a novice jam maker can be really stressful. Everything from the jam setting to holding your breath waiting for each lid to "pop".
And my Lord! The boiling that goes into this stuff is crazy. Boil water, boil fruit, boil jars, boil lids, boil racks, tongs, rings, boil jars again.
Blahhhhhh- you get the point. Yes, I know you can use a dishwasher to cut some of the time down but I prefer boiling everything anyways. Boil, Boil, Boil
In the end I ended up with 14 jars of set and well sealed jars. Ahhhh-Thank goodness.

Catching up some
We've been busy since I lost my camera. So I thought I would post a little of the action that I was able to capture once I found my camera again. The rest will just have to remain undocumented. Sorry.

LOST
Ok- So here's the scoop. I lost my camera and have been plunged back into the world of letting life pass by and not being able to document it. I now realize how empty life is without a camera. I suppose I have to go buy a new one. Oh darn!

Two weekends in one post
I think my family has a problem with cell phone usage. Here is mom, Meg and Christopher not working. See everything in there? We had to move that down from the second floor in his old place and then up four flights of steps to his new place. Yea, fun...that's what I did on Saturday. But we made the most of it (and it really didn't take long) by finishing up with a few good beers and a slice of mud pie in downtown Sac.
Christophers retro kitchen. Very cute. l
Here is our neighb's muskrat and another attempt to play with photos. Aug 2, 2009.
RED NECK RIVER BOAT!! Here I am floating/beached in the river. Some people were at our usual spot (see the pool and person behind me- that's our spot) so I had to be satisfied with the next pool down. Yes, second class. But on a good note they left shortly after this picture and we got to move up in the big pond.

See the difference?? Thanks Aimee Fredy!
A good friend of mine has introduced me to the world of photography and photo editing. I'm at the stage of what can be defined as "infintile," in the whole touching up photos but I don't think I did too bad of job for my first time. But you'd be amazed at the time that goes into just one photo. But what a great new hobby. Yeaaa! I'm so excited.
